SHEA Across Vietnam: Inspiring Future Learning Through AI

From Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai to Can Tho and Hanoi, Skyline Higher Education Australia (SHEA) recently travelled across Vietnam to connect with students, educators and universities through a series of AI workshops, academic engagements and partnership discussions.

Representing SHEA throughout the journey were Suresh Basnet, Founder and CEO; Associate Professor. Luke Bozzetto, Executive Dean; and Yen Bui, Regional Marketing Manager – Southeast Asia.

More than an international recruitment trip, the journey reflected SHEA’s commitment to taking education beyond the classroom — sharing knowledge, inspiring students and strengthening connections between Australia and Vietnam.

Bringing AI and Future Learning to Vietnamese Students

One of the central themes of the journey was Artificial Intelligence and the future of learning.

Led by Dr. Luke Bozzetto, Executive Dean of SHEA, our interactive AI workshops gave Vietnamese students the opportunity to experience a taste of learning with SHEA while exploring one of the technologies transforming the world around them.

Across Vietnam, the SHEA team engaged with students and educators at:

• THCS & THPT Hùng Vương – Dong Nai City
• THPT Chuyên Gia Định – Ho Chi Minh City
• FPT University – Hanoi City
• FPT University – Can Tho City
• Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) – Hanoi City

Rather than simply listening to a presentation, students were encouraged to participate, ask questions and think about how AI is already changing the way we learn, work, communicate and solve problems.

A Day of Learning with SHEA

Our goal was simple: instead of only telling students what studying with SHEA could be like, we wanted to give them an opportunity to experience it.

The workshops were designed around the concept of a “Day of Learning with SHEA” — bringing practical, interactive and future-focused learning directly to students in Vietnam.

Through these sessions, students explored the possibilities of AI while being encouraged to think critically about how technology can be applied responsibly and effectively.

For many students, it was also an opportunity to look beyond AI as simply a tool and consider the broader skills they will need to succeed in a technology-driven future.

From Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi: Connecting Across Vietnam

The SHEA journey extended across some of Vietnam’s major education hubs.

From engaging with high school students in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai, to meeting university students and academic leaders in Can Tho and Hanoi, every destination brought different conversations, ideas and perspectives.

These experiences reinforced something important to us: while technology is global, education becomes meaningful through people, relationships and shared experiences.

Building Stronger Australia–Vietnam Academic Connections

Alongside the student workshops, our visits to FPT University and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) created opportunities for valuable conversations with university representatives and academic leaders.

Discussions explored areas of mutual interest in Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, as well as opportunities to strengthen academic engagement between SHEA and Vietnamese institutions.

For SHEA, international engagement is not simply about recruiting students to Australia. It is also about creating relationships that can support knowledge exchange, academic collaboration and new learning opportunities across borders.

AI and cybersecurity are rapidly changing the skills required across industries around the world.

And most importantly, it was about connecting with students, teachers, academics and education partners who share our curiosity about what the future of education and technology could look like.

From Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai, Can Tho and Hanoi, we were inspired by the curiosity, enthusiasm and warm welcome we received throughout the journey.
